Designing #Openteach with ABC

Posted on October 15, 2019October 15, 2019 by Orna Farrell

Last week the #Openteach project team gathered to take part in an ABC Learning Design workshop, led by Clare Gormley and Mark Glynn, the DCU leads in the ABC to VLE project. The aim of the workshop was to design the #Openteach professional development short online course.

We found the ABC approach stimulating and engaging. Starting off with a Tweet sized description of the course:

We then worked through the course design using a giant piece of paper and a range of activity cards. Through this process we storyboarded the five sections of the course and came up the idea of a scenario based approach. After three hours, we walked out with a concrete plan and a solid course design.

Overall we found the ABC approach thought-provoking, busy and very effective.
